چکیده

With the increasing number of applications for both surface and underwater autonomous vehicles, a great amount control methods guidance principles has been developed over years. This work proposes review most common these methods. It is mainly focused on model-based nonlinear principles. Notably, this details examples variations linearizing controllers, line sight guidance, sliding mode controllers several other less fully-actuated underactuated vehicles. Additionally, an alternative definition underactuation with respect to task allowing better understanding consequences control. Comparison cases shows how laws can be used solve problems what mechanisms compensate lack actuation degree freedom. The reviewed are compared discussed their capabilities, limitations suitability typical tasks.

Guidance and Control of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

This paper discusses the design and practical use of efficient trajectories for an autonomous underwater vehicle. The vehicle model that will be presented is based on the NASA funded Deep Phreatic Thermal Explorer (DEPTHX) and the Omni-Directional Intelligent Navigator (ODIN). The underlying mathematical framework is developed using geometric control theory and differential geometry. Briefly, t...

Adaptive Guidance and Control for Autonomous Hypersonic Vehicles

Guidance and control technology is recognized as an important aspect of the military, civil, and commercial goal of reliable, low-cost, aircraft-type operations into space. Here, several guidance and control methods are extended to enable integration into a single fully adaptive guidance and control system that offers a high degree of mission flexibility, fault tolerance, and autonomy. This pap...

Guidance and Control for Underactuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

The main focus of this paper is on the motion planning problem for an under-actuated, submerged, omni-directional autonomous vehicle. Underactuation is extremely important to consider in ocean research and exploration. Battery failure, actuator malfunction and electronic shorts are a few reasons that may cause the vehicle to loose direct control of one or more degrees-of-freedom. Underactuation...

Obstacle avoidance of autonomous vehicles based on model predictive control

This paper presents an obstacle avoidance scheme for autonomous vehicles as an active safety procedure in unknown environments. Safe trajectories are generated using the non-linear model predictive framework, in which the simplified dynamics of the vehicle are used to predict the state of the vehicle over the look-ahead horizon. To compensate for the slight dissimilarity between the simplified ...
